Bloomhill is a non-denominational incorporated charity with public benevolence status. Bloomhill does not depend on Government funding and is totally self-funded through Op shops, fundraising event, donations and bequeaths.
Where is it?
Bloomhill Cancer Help is in central Buderim, only two minutes down the Big hill in Ballinger Road. The Centre, with its ten acres of bushland and lush tropical gardens, is a haven of peace and tranquility.
What does Bloomhill Do?
Bloomhill offers immediate help to any person going through the crisis of being diagnosed with cancer or otheR life challenging illnesses. This help includes physical, emotional, therapeutic and palliative care support and extends to include family members and their carers from time of diagnosis. Bloomhill offers councelling and support groups for patients and carers and bereaved persons. Also a whole range of complementary therapies including massage, reflexology, reiki, meditation and relaxation.
Who Does Bloomhill Help?
The Bloomhill Cancer Help looks after hundreds of people every year and the number of people coming forward is ever increasing. This places a great strain on human and financial resources. More volunteers are always needed and experience has shown that as more and more people come to know about Bloomhill the more successful it will become. Helping people overcome major crisis in their life can be one of the most regarding things one can ever do. What is a Bloomhill Buddy?
When one is suddenly diagnosed with a life threatening illness it""s great if you""ve got a special person that you can turn to in the crisis. This person is a Bloomhill volunteer, specially trained to help you in your time of trouble.
What do Bloomhill Volunteers Do?
At Bloomhill the volunteers have varied roles. Some become involved in home respite duties. Others provide transport to clients for medical appointments.
