Volunteer Volunteer opportunities Buddy Support (one on one support) Buddy volunteer services provide companionship for clients, and may involve activities such as: having a coffee, a picnic, a walk, a visit to the library, shopping, the movies or just a chat. Key Responsibilities as a Buddy Providing compassionate care, companionship and limited practical assistance to clients, as agreed between the client and Bloomhill Providing buddying for a recommended one hour period (with flexibility subject to the activity to be engaged in, as agreed by both parties) Points to note Buddies are required to attend Buddy/Respite Volunteer Training prior to commencement as a Buddy Buddies must phone the client at home before any client service Buddies are required to advise the Community Services Office of any changes to their availability. Buddies are required to record details of any visits/service using the appropriate QA document or as instructed by Volunteer Services office. Buddies are required to advise the Community Services office immediately if they have any concerns or information relating to the client condition. Buddies are not responsible for housekeeping duties or transport services to appointments
