Clinical Nurse

Bloomhill Cancer Care is a centre of excellence in Integrative Cancer Care on the Sunshine Coast which supports people of all ages to live well with cancer.  Our nurse-led model represents a unique blueprint for client care, supporting people to manage their prescribed medical cancer therapy and integrate a range of nursing, allied health and therapy services to provide a holistic approach to the care of the person affected by cancer.  Bloomhill works closely with acute cancer care services, general practitioners, community nursing services and other health care professionals.

Position Profile

The clinical nurse role supports clients at the time of diagnosis, through treatment, survivorship and when required, palliative care.  Undertaking clinical assessment, needs identification, providing patient information, supported decision making, medication management support, survivorship and wellness planning for clients are key deliverables of this diverse role. The successful candidate must have recent oncology experience, an understanding of the range of needs of oncology patients and their families across the trajectory of the cancer journey and high level communication skills.  As a team member the nurse will be part of a supportive, strong and collaborate culture where Salary packaging and a staff well-being program is available.

The current vacancy is for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse to join our team 3 days week (22.8 hours).  This permanent part-time role is based at our Buderim Wellness Centre, a unique workplace environment, set on 10 acres of lush rainforest gardens.

 

Criteria

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Recent Oncology nursing experience
  • Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of clients
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent clinical documentation and care plan development
  • Genuine warmth and sensitivity and a compassionate approach to client care
  • High level of ethical clinical practice
  • Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A commitment to Professional Development
  • Experience in nurse-led clinics, community chronic illness, palliative care or breast care nursing valued, but not essential
