During the week the Bloomhill Centre is used for caring for members of the Sunshine Coast Community facing a diagnosis of cancer and provides leading edge psychosocial care to patients, their carers and family members.  Due to this reason the Centre may not be available for hire during week days between the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm.  Hiring of the Centre for the use of appropriate workshops / events during this time may be considered.

All services provided by Bloomhill staff are evidence-based and recognised as appropriate modalities as a part of integrated cancer care.  While we respect there is a wide range of alternative therapies offered in the community, we do not endorse these.  When leasing the Bloomhill centre for community groups and events, preference will be given to those which align with Bloomhill’s philosophy.

Bloomhill Facilities

All Bloomhill facility hire includes kitchen use (excluding commercial dishwasher) and toilet facilities.  Standard hire includes seating and tableware for up to 80 guests.  Additional packages for extra guests or event requirements are available as below.

Smoke Free Zone:  All Bloomhill Cancer Care facilities, including gardens and car parks, are smoke free zones.

Parking:  Onsite parking is available for approximately 35 cars plus 2 disabled access spaces.  On street parking is also available.

IT / Internet:  Internet usage is available for hirers of the Conference room/s via Bloomhill’s laptop.  Any multimedia presentations are required to be presented via Bloomhill’s laptop, please bring these presentations etc. on a USB for connection.

Bloomhill Café:  Bloomhill café is open Monday to Friday 8.30 – 2pm for use by our clients and the Sunshine Coast Community.  The café is NOT open weekends.  If you require catering for your event, please speak with the Fundraising Coordinator regarding suggestions.

Offices, Reception and Treatment Room:  These areas are not accessible to the hirer under any circumstances.

Incidentals

Lock up Procedures:  All windows and doors are to be locked before leaving the premises.  The hirer must complete and sign a Centre Lockup Checklist, issued with the key and is to be returned along with the key to reception.

Noise Restrictions:  Due to our location within a residential area, please be respectful of our neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum.

Urgent Issues:  Please contact Glen 0429 798 356 or Chris 0437 099 566 for any emergencies during the hours of your hire.  Any other enquires / issues please contact Bloomhill Administration during office hours.

Key Deposit:  A key deposit of $20.00 is payable when collecting key and will be refunded when key is returned.  The key needs to be collected one working day prior to hire and returned the next working day.

External Service Providers:  If you are engaging external service providers e.g. Caterers, Bloomhill requires a copy of their Public Liability Insurance prior to the hire date.

Cleaning:  Hirer is responsible for returning kitchen, toilets and area hired to a clean and tidy state.  This includes removing rubbish and turning on the dishwasher (Commercial dishwasher is not to be used).

Rubbish Removal:  Excess rubbish generated by the hirer is to be removed from the premises by the hirer.

Dogs:  Dogs are only allowed within our gardens on leash or within our facilities if a certified companion / assistance dog.

Garden Area:  As we are a community organisation and part of our grounds consist of memorial gardens please take this into consideration when using the grounds / garden areas.

The following conditions are a requirement of hiring Bloomhill Facilities:

  • All hire needs are to be discussed with Bloomhill staff prior to the event
  • Minimum hire charge is $150.00.
  • You will be contacted via email to:
  • advise if we are able to accommodate your request.
  • an invoice will be attached detailing costs of hire etc. for successful requests
  • Your booking is tentative until you have received confirmation from Bloomhill and the invoice has been paid
  • Payment of invoice is required within 7 days or on receipt if hire is less than 7 days away
  • Please be advised that a $50.00 fee apply to all cancelled bookings within 7 days of the event.
  • A $20 key deposit is required (refundable upon return)
  • A copy of the Hirer’s Photo Identification is required prior to or on collection of key (Drivers Licence / Passport) and will be retained by Bloomhill
