“Everyone needs nurturing,” says Bloomhill’s new massage therapist Neila Noriega, “and massage is a great nurturing and healing treatment.”

A qualified remedial therapist, Neila’s focus is holistic treatment which takes into account individual needs and works towards supporting and improving lifestyle, health and wellbeing.

“I have a passion to help and support people to enjoy a better quality of life no matter their conditions and circumstances,” Neila said.

Neila is one of Bloomhill’s newest staff members, delivering all the care and nurturing Bloomhill is known for to members of the wider community.

“Over the past twenty-four years Bloomhill Cancer Care has been at the forefront of the trend towards wellness treatment which sees the body as a whole,” Care manager Trish Wilson said.

“Our aim is to focus on holistic wellness, and we’re now including the whole community, who can help us support those touched by cancer, by enjoying our beauty treatments and massages themselves.

“Neila and our other therapists and allied health team are here to offer a range of services including exercise physiology, psychology and counselling, reflexology, massage, lymphoedema management and other pampering treatments.

“We know how to do holistic health well,” Trish said. “We know the importance of wellbeing for people and we want to make this expertise available to local community, through services provided by highly qualified and experienced practitioners like Neila.”

Of her opportunity to work at Bloomhill Neila says, “It is a place where people really love and support people. I knew when I met Debbie and Trish that this was where my soul was. It is a beautiful, hidden, enchanted forest that is really welcoming and friendly.”

Trish said, “At Bloomhill we have created a healthy space. The therapy rooms literally open out to the rainforest and we have regular visits from kangaroos. It is the ideal place for anyone to undertake a wellness journey.”

When treatment is over the onsite café with a commercial kitchen and home-cooked, healthy food is a great place to relax overlooking the bushland. Bloomhill’s volunteer gardeners make sure it is always vibrant and welcoming and there is a boardwalk with seats where you can relax among nature.

“By coming to Bloomhill community clients help us to be able to provide subsidised services to our cancer clients who are often struggling financially due to the high cost of cancer treatments and associated costs,” Trish said.

“They will know that by getting care here any profit that we make from these services goes back directly to supporting people touched by cancer.”
