The fundraising campaign to upgrade two very old and weary treatment tables in the therapy wing at the Bloomhill Wellness Centre was given a healthy boost thanks to the generosity of Hand Heart Pocket (HHP), the charity of Freemasons Queensland, and members of the Landsborough Masonic Lodge.

Lodge member Alan Holdsworth noticed a donation tin at the Beerwah Op Shop earlier this year, seeking funds to replace one of the tables. Knowing that it would "take some time" before there were enough coins in the tin to purchase the table, Alan set about finding another way to help.

Together with fellow Lodge member Walter (Wal) Charlwood, they set about raising funds through the Lodge, and then had the donation increased with support from Hand Heart Pocket, the independent charity founded by the Freemasons of Queensland.

HHP representative Michael Aldrich said through collaboration with Freemason Lodges, the charity works to identify and support causes at a local level that need extra assistance.

"We believe in creating strength not dependence, so we give a hand up to communities, to other charities and to individuals."

The Landsborough Lodge made the pledge to raise money for the new massage as part of this year's inaugural "Be There for Bloomhill" campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the Sunshine Coast community, and match funding from Hand Heart Pocket, sufficient funds were raised for not one but two tables, along with some seats for the therapists and extra accessories to add comfort for clients coming in for massage, acupuncture or reflexology.

In the last financial year Bloomhill provided 393 reflexology sessions, 505 massage sessions, 363 acupuncture sessions and 674 lymphoedema management sessions. This valuable gift will make a real impact in the lives of both our clients and therapists - thank you.
