Our heartfelt thanks go to Mooloolaba Bowls Club for its members' generous donation to Bloomhill. As we enter our annual Be There for Bloomhill fundraising drive, we are already thrilled at the generosity of community groups who like the bowls club, who are digging deep to support our important work.

Recently the Mooloolaba Bowls Club dedicated its Annual May Day Pairs event to the memory of Sarah Stehr, a former Ladies President of the Club.

The event also recognised cancer support with the major raffle of the day being donated to Bloomhill and together with an additional donation from the Club Board, Bloomhill was supported by $ 815.

Bloomhill Chair, Michael Wise and Bloomhill Secretary Graham Tanis are pictured receiving the donation from Club Bowls Director, Jean McDougall, Sarah’s daughter Karen Stehr and event sponsor Luke Godwin.

Bloomhill sincerely thanks the Mooloolaba Bowls Club, participating bowlers the Stehr family and Team Godwin for their collective support.

"It was a very pleasant surprise and funds that will be much appreciated at Bloomhill as we continue to provide personalised support for people touched by cancer," Bloomhill Chair Michael Wise said.

"We know your club's members share very personal stories with cancer, and appreciate the work Bloomhill is doing.

"Whilst we don't as a rule allocate general donations to specific areas of support, as an example of the value of the Club's support your donation alone has the effect of potentially enabling us to provide 20 individual free qualified personal counselling sessions to clients.

"As such your donation is very meaningful to those who we seek to support."
