Getting your third vaccine dose now is the best way to protect against infection from the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

From two weeks after your booster vaccination (of both AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine options), you will be 75% protected from symptomatic infection, and 90% protected from hospitalisation.

If it has been more than four months since your second COVID-19 vaccination then your immunity and protection against the Omicron variant will have vastly diminished.

Without the third ‘booster’ shot, after four months from the second immunisation the AstraZeneca vaccine will offer 0% protection against Omicron infection or hospitalisation.

The Pfizer vaccine has 35-40% protection against symptomatic infection, 57% protection against hospitalisation, from four months after the second dose.

Check-in still required at wellness centre

The Queensland Government has removed the requirement for mandatory check-ins at venues where vaccination is not a requirement of entry.

However Bloomhill Wellness Centre is a health service and all people attending the site including clients, staff and volunteers, are still required to use check-in app.

Café patrons are also required to continue using check-in app.

We are continuing with all other proactive safety measures:

  • Please stay home if unwell with any COVID-19 symptoms
  • If you have any symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested. If you do a Rapid Antigen Test and it returns a positive result, you need to register with QLD health ( )
  • Please stay 1.5 metres away from other people (two big steps)
  • Wash your hands often, using soap and water or hand sanitiser
  • Wear a face mask when you are not able to keep 1.5 metres away from other people or whenever mandatory face masks are required.
