Bloomhill’s wellness centre is a trusted place for people touched by cancer to get help, and demand for our services is growing. As our supporters in the community may know, we are planning to expand our facilities so we can continue to meet the needs of our Sunshine Coast community.

We’ve recently started discussions with a construction company and while yet to finalise an agreement with this reputable local firm, we’ve revised the vision for the site and are looking forward to having an announcement in the next couple of months.

The first phase of the wellness centre redevelopment will increase the available consultation and therapy rooms from 7 to 14 spaces. It will provide improved kitchen facilities and the inclusion of a gymnasium in the main building.

The current building does have wheelchair access, but most ambulant clients currently enter via reception and use stairs down to the main area. During this first phase we’ll also change the access points to the building, with Reception to be located near the café, and on the same level as consultation and therapy rooms.

We are going to use this expanded building to provide more services for our clients, and to commercialise some of our clinical services over the next five to 10 years, improving our financial sustainability.

It’s an exciting prospect for us and clients to have vastly improved facilities in the not-so-distant future. Please be assured we will plan the redevelopment carefully to ensure minimal impact on existing services and clients. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome – please email [email protected]
